"The Birth of Fire" showcases an almost impossibly thin spiraling flame reaching upwards. Arising from it's midst, a textured tendril of nascent flame. This hand-carved marble sculpture pushes the medium to its limits with moments of translucency--sunlight literally passes through the piece--which seem to light it from within. It is both beautiful and inspirational.
