Description
Sometimes left over, neglected items can be rather wonderful. This is the case with "Danseuse," a smaller work carved from a fragment of a much larger piece. I allowed this to sit in my studio for months, wondering what it might become. And one day, as I was staring at it, I saw a "dancer." As I carved more it reminded me of my mother, who danced professionally in the 1950s but always maintained that certain level of elegance of movement that ballerinas seem never to lose.
