Carved from red Carrara marble, this piece evokes memories of the sea and, therefore, a contemplation on our own past. Although it is only about 8" tall, the textured movements are evocative against the smoother, shell-like dome. Yet another meditation on relationships between forms, the beauty of this stone helps it stand out and, to me, gives it a wonderfully feminine quality.
